It dropped a valve. We aren’t sure if it’s timing belt related(Lexus replaced it earlier this year) or it GM LS’d( valve spring) , but it’s a very dead 3UZ. If it’s timing belt failure, I’m trying to get my dad to at the very least contact the dealer since they just did it earlier this year.

jebus...  ok, everybody on OPPO needs to stop what they are doing and go change their oil right now just as a precautionary measure.  I don’t care if you just changed it yesterday.

Oil was fresh.

Adding to today’s theme, my car is in the shop right now due to a large puddle of oil found under the car yesterday. I’m thinking an oil line to the turbo is the culprit.

RIP Lexus LS 430 you will be missed.

Sorry I dropped a valve seat on a car and it holed a piston, total engine failure. It was a $500 car so not much was lost there.

Ouch!

Sspeaking of LS valve springs - that was the very first model I did when I had my C5Z. Plus I could get stiffer springs for the cam I later installed.

My Dad already has too much into it to scrap it, because he didn't take the earlier hints that the car was cursed.

That should be simple enough, hopefully.

A low mile used engine is fairly cheap, and he plans on doing it at home. The issues he's had are virtually unknown in the UZ world, so the chances of it happening again are slim at least.

No, it’s only at like 170k.

I’m not sure how the hell I confused you with Lexus Guy. Sorry about that.
